The other day, I was watching Tangled on Disney+ with my kids when I realized something with startling clarity: we kind of lived part of this movie last year.
No, no one was kidnapped nor did we find a magic golden flower. But as Rapunzel sang of spending all of her time in her tower, listing each activity, I realized we’d done most of those things since Covid arrived last March. Here’s the video clip of the song, and then look at the checklist of activities. How many have you done during Covid?
- Sweep
- Polish
- Mop
- Wax
- Laundry
- Shine up
- Read a book
- Paint
- Play guitar
- Knit
- Cook
- Puzzles
- Darts
- Baking
- Paper mache
- Ballet
- Chess
- Pottery
- Ventriloquy
- Candle making
- Stretch
- Sketch
- Take a climb
- Sew a dress
- Brush hair
That’s a list of 25 activities. How many have you done? We’ve:

Turns out, we did 17 of Rapunzel’s quarantine activities. We haven’t done darts, but we do have toy archery supplies, so possibly 18. I’ve mended clothes, but not technically sewn a dress.

I relate to Rapunzel pre-escape a bit more than I used to. If you haven’t done these activities, now you have some tips and tricks for safe at home family activities, straight from Rapunzel herself!
Let us know in the comments how many you checked off!
