2020 in Books

I’ve been participating in Goodread’s Reading Challenge for the past few years. I don’t view it as a competition, but as a goal I’m setting for myself. I also just love keeping track of what I’ve read, and the Year in Review is such a fun feature. You can view mine here. In summary, I read 85 books, for a total of 25,571 pages. Can you tell I read as escapism?!

If you didn’t meet your reading goal during a year full of global pandemic and political madness, don’t be hard on yourself. Many people reported struggling to focus to read; I just happened to have the opposite problem. I sought out fiction especially to help me escape from the frightening reality that is our current world. If you’re hoping to get back into reading for 2021, I highly recommend the books marked with an asterisk * above.

What were your favorite books you read last year?
